Tech news, reviews and code samples!

The internet is abuzz the past day and a half as new images, that look legit, have surfaced possibly detailing the next Assassin’s Creed game. Normally the franchise sees a new release every November 17th, but this year Assassin’s Creed 3 is scheduled to release on PS3 and 360 on October 30th, apparently because they’re just so excited to release it they couldn’t wait until November.

Yesterday, an image was apparently sent in to Kotaku from a Best Buy employee claiming they were from the publisher announcing the game. The employee also stated that more information would be revealed on March 5th, which lines up nicely with GDC (which is running March 5th-9th in San Fransico).

Adding fuel to these rumours, GameStop-owned Game Informer magazine also leaked a similar looking banner for Assassin’s Creed 3. Someone grabbed an image of the hub for Assassin’s Creed III showing the new Assassin along side the US first president George Washington.

All of this points towards the new game being set in around the time of the American Revolution.

The original image depicts a very different looking Assassin sporting a tomahawk (made from the Assassin’s logo), a handgun, a bow and arrow and a sword (bada** if you ask us). He appears to be wearing some kind of bone necklace around his neck which is also leading a lot of people to believe he may be of Native American descent. Add on some period looking clothes and leather chaps and you have our new Assassin.

The hub banner shows this same Assassin almost looking to lead George Washington in a small boat. Usually these kinds of banner’s mean big exclusive content (meaning for Gamestop) so we’ll be expecting some awesome pre-order bonus’s as well with the reveal!

Who knows what this means but a full reveal cannot be far off (read 3 days and counting!!) and we’re sure Ubi has got some amazing cards up their sleeves as this game is supposed to bring an end to the Desmond story and wrap up a lot of the mystery behind the other games!

Keep checking back and we’ll keep you up to date with all the latest Assassin’s News!
